These terms cover your Sasonica account and the hosted relay at relay.sasonica.com. The Sasonica server and Sasonica Shell are open source under the Apache 2.0 licence; these terms are about the services we run for you.
Who we are
Sasonica is made by South Pen Labs Pty Ltd (ABN 35 696 457 860), Australia. Questions: [email protected]; about your account: [email protected].
The hosted relay is a free beta
Sasonica Shell lets an AI assistant you connect run commands on your own computer. Normally the relay that passes those commands along runs in your own Cloudflare account. The hosted relay is the same relay, run by us, so you don’t need one.
For now it is a beta and it is free. That means:
- it may change, slow down, or stop working for a while as we improve it;
- we may change its limits, or end the beta, with notice where we can give it (see “Changes and ending the beta”);
- if we start charging for it, we’ll tell you first, and nothing you haven’t agreed to will be charged.
Your account
You need a Sasonica account to use the hosted relay. Keep your password and any sign-in you link (Google, GitHub or Facebook) to yourself: whoever can sign in as you can add a machine to your relay or remove one. Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has got in.
You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, and at least 16.
Your machine, your commands
The relay only carries commands between assistants you have connected and the machine you joined. What runs on your machine is up to you. You choose which assistants to connect, which commands and tools to allow, and what they can reach. We don’t look at, approve or check the commands that pass through, and we can’t undo anything a command does.
So you are responsible for:
- what the assistants you connect ask your machine to do, and what it does;
- keeping your connector URL secret (it works like a password) and removing any assistant you no longer trust;
- having the right to run what you run on the machine you join.
Acceptable use
Use the hosted relay only to reach machines you own or are allowed to manage. Don’t use it to:
- reach, control or attack anyone else’s computer or network;
- send spam, malware, or anything unlawful;
- get around its limits, for example by joining machines under several accounts to escape the one-machine rule, or by flooding it with requests;
- probe, scan or test the relay itself for weaknesses without our written agreement (if you find a security problem, please tell us at [email protected]; we’re grateful);
- resell it, or run it as part of a service for other people.
Limits
To keep the relay fair and affordable during the beta:
- an account can have one machine joined at a time; joining another replaces it, and the page says so before you confirm;
- there are limits on how often assistants and your machine can call the relay, and on how often a join can be started; over them, requests are refused for a minute;
- a single command and its output have size limits.
We may change these limits during the beta. The current ones are in the hosted relay’s documentation.
What the relay keeps, and for how long
The relay keeps the commands sent to your machine and their results, so your assistant can collect them. It deletes them after 30 days, whatever your machine does. If your machine doesn’t contact the relay for 90 days, we remove it from the relay, with its history; you can join it again at any time. Our privacy policy says more about what we hold and why.
Removing a machine, deleting your account
You can see and remove your machines at relay.sasonica.com/account. Removing one deletes its queue and history on the relay straight away.
You can delete your Sasonica account at any time, in the Sasonica app or on your account page at cms.sasonica.com. When you do, every machine you joined to the hosted relay is removed from it, with its history. Your own computer and anything on it are not touched.
Suspension
We may suspend or remove a machine, or an account’s use of the hosted relay, if we reasonably believe it breaks these terms, puts the relay or other people at risk, or the law requires it. Where it’s safe and lawful to, we’ll tell you why and give you a chance to sort it out first. You can stop using the hosted relay at any time.
No warranty
The hosted relay is provided as is, free, during a beta. We work to keep it running and secure, but we don’t promise that it will always be available, fast, or free of faults, or that a command will always be delivered or its result kept.
To the extent the law allows, South Pen Labs is not liable for any loss that comes from using the hosted relay, including what a command does on your machine, lost data, or the relay being unavailable. Where our liability can’t be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to supplying the service again.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other rights you have that the law says can’t be excluded.
Changes and ending the beta
If we change these terms, we’ll update the date at the top, and for anything significant we’ll email you before it applies. If we end the hosted relay or the free beta, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice by email where we can, so you can move to a self-hosted relay, which stays free.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of Victoria, Australia, and the courts of Victoria (and the federal courts of Australia) can hear any dispute. If you live somewhere whose law gives you stronger rights, those rights still apply.
